The GooniesAccording to The Daily News, the film’s director, Richard Donner, confirmed a sequel is in the works, when speaking to photographers in Beverly Hills on Saturday.

Donner added that he hopes all of the flick’s original cast — including Oscar-nominated actor Josh Brolin, “Lord of the Rings” star Sean Astin, and 80s teen favorite Corey Feldman — would all be back.

He didn’t say if the sequel would pick up with the same characters nearly 30 years later, or if the original actors would make a cameo of sorts.

In 2010, Donner was against the idea of doing a sequel, so only time will tell if it comes to fruition. Read more
