My son, Patrick, started his senior year last week. On Friday, they were having a guest speaker for his business course, Virtual Enterprise, and were required to wear company attire. Patrick didn’t own a nice pair of slacks, let alone a button-down shirt and tie. All he wears are jeans and t-shirts. And let’s not forget about the zippered hoodie that he wears, rain or shine.

So, less than a week after stocking up on school supplies, new jeans and t-shirts, we went shopping again. I was quite surprised at the selections he made, especially the nice blue and black striped tie that matched the shirts and slacks.

So, this is Patrick before he left for school:

He looks so handsome in a tie, don’t you think? I actually believed that he liked the way he looked, and he wore it so well. I bet he’d look awesome in a tux!

I had a feeling the tie wouldn’t stay on long. This is how Patrick looked when he came home from school:

Oh, well, it was nice while it lasted. I look forward to the next time he has to wear company attire.
