I just read an HP newsletter announcing the discontinuation of the HP TouchPad. See Press Release.
You may find some pretty good deals on the TouchPad, if you can grab them before they’re gone. For example, HP lowered the price to $149.99 for the 32G and $99.99 for the 16G.
However, consumers who purchased the special deals on Amazon, by Onsale, have complained that they are now out of stock and had to cancel their orders.
I just spoke to a customer sales rep and he informed me that the product has been discontinued and that resellers have been instructed to return the product to HP, and HP will in turn have a closeout sale. HP will be making an announcement and will send me an email notification when the TouchPad becomes available. I’m not going to hold my breath.

They have some pretty good deals on laptops, too, which is a good time to buy for your high school student.
