I know I’m posting this late, but you still have time! Time to get your little ones to behave like angels, at least until Christmas day!
I had absolutely no idea what elf on the shelf meant. I don’t have little ones anymore, but I know we all would have loved this when they were little. Just recently, my niece posted something about Elf on the Shelf, so I Googled it. There were quite a few links on Google, but I chose the one to Amazon.com because I love shopping there. They have competitive prices, fast shipping, a good return policy and great customer service. Anyway, that’s where I learned about Santa’s magical scout elves.
Start a new family tradition with the Elf on the Shelf. The Elf on the Shelf is Santa’s way of knowing whether your children have been naughty or nice. Of course, he can’t do it all by himself, so he sends out his scout elves to keep an eye on things.
When the family receives their Elf on the Shelf from the Elf Adoption Center, the elf remains in hibernation until the family reads the book, gives their elf a very special name, and registers their adoption online. Once named, each scout elf will receive its Christmas magic and become part of the family tradition every Christmas season, year after year. Now, this is very important! No one is allowed to touch the elf after it is placed on the shelf for the first time. If anyone handles it, the elf will lose its magic powers.
These little elves are great listeners and wonderful observers. No good deed goes unnoticed. Every night, after the family goes to bed, the elves use their Christmas magic to fly back to the North Pole and report the daily activities to Santa Claus.
Before the family wakes up, the scout elf returns to the family and finds a new spot. These elves love to play hide and seek with their families, so you might find him in the freezer (where it reminds him of home at the North Pole), in the cupboard, or just sitting on the mantle.
On Christmas Eve, when the scout elf hears Santa’s sleigh bell, he will fly back to the North Pole until the next season, wishing every girl and boy a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
