Tina, my old friend, 8/21/53 – 3/14/11

My old friend, Tina, passed away on March 14, 2011. She had lung cancer. She was 57 years old, two years younger than me. Today would have been her 58th birthday.

This photo was taken at my house Christmas 1992; we were closer then.

I think of her every day, and thought I would post this video of “My Old Friend,” by Tim McGraw:

I Am Not There

Do not stand by my grave and cry
I am not there, I did not die

In the early morning when you rise
I am the glint of sunlight in your eyes

I am the light warm morning breeze
gently brushing against the leaves

I am the glistening drops of rain
sliding down a window pane

I am an apple plucked from a tree
I am a butterfly flying free

I am a bright star in the sky
I am a bird soaring high

I am on my way to somewhere
Some day I’ll meet you there

Do not stand by my grave and cry
I am not there, I did not die
